Itinerary:
| Day 1 |
Fly Vancouver to Beijing via Seattle on China Hainan Airlines. |
| Day 2 |
Arrive Beijing, the capital of China. Meet with guide and transferred to your hotel. |
| Day 3 |
Morning visit to Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. The Forbidden City, the complex of imperial palaces which
is home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace, a former summer resort
for the royal family and a boat ride on Lake Kunming if weather permits Shop at a Pearl market before transfer back to your hotel. (B/L) |
| Day 4 |
Full day tour to the Great Wall, you will visit the less crowded Mutianyu section with cable car ride included. After lunch, visit old
Beijing — Hutongs by trishaw and have tea at a local family. This evening, enjoy a delicious Beijing roast duck dinner. (B/L/D) |
| Day 5 |
Visit the Temple of Heaven in the morning and a 100 years old Silk store. This afternoon you will fly to Xian, the most historic city in
China and the capital of ancient China for 11 dynasties. Your guide will meet you on arrival and transfer to your hotel. (B/L) |
| Day 6 |
Full day Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses at the Tomb of Qin Shi Hu, the first Qin Emperor. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the
Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was built in 652 AD. Visit a Jade carving factory before transfer back to your hotel. (B/L) |
| Day 7 |
This morning you will visit Shanxi Provincial Museum and the ancient City Wall. After lunch, you will fly to Chongqing. A panoramic
city tour if time permits and then you will be transferred to the port to board the 5-star Yangtze River Cruise ship, your home for the next
3 days. (B/L) |
| Day 8 |
Cruise on the Yangtze. Your shore excursion today is Fengdu (Ghost City) or Shibaozhai. Cruise through the spectacular Qutang Gorge.
Lunch & Dinner onboard. (B/L/D) |
| Day 9 |
Cruise on the Yangtze. Today you will witness some of the most fascinating sights in all of China. Enjoy a shore excursion to Shennong
Stream or Lesser Three Gorges. Cruise through the Wu Gorge and the west part of Xiling Gorges. Lunch and dinner onboard. (B/L/D) |
| Day 10 |
Pass the east part of Xiling Gorges and enjoy a shore excursion at the Three Gorges Dam Project, the largest hydroelectric project in the
world. Embark Yichang and transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai—”Paris of the Orient”. Transfer to your hotel and balance
of day is free at leisure. (B/L) |
| Day 11 |
Sightseeing today includes a tour of YuYuen Garden, the Bund, Jade Buddha Temple and a Jade carving factory. After dinner, you
will enjoy a stunning Acrobatic Show. (B/L/D) |
| Day 12 |
Farewell to China. Transfer to airport for your flight to Beijing and connect onto Hainan Airlines' flight to Vancouver via Seattle. (B) |
